ScreenShotty sends no data to us – and it cannot. The app has no network access: it runs in the macOS sandbox, and the permission to make internet connections is simply not there. There is no account, no cloud and no server that ever sees your screenshots.
Everything you capture stays on your Mac – until you decide to copy, save, print or share it.

None of this is transmitted. There is no place in the program that could do it.
macOS requires the Screen Recording permission for every app that wants to see what is on screen. ScreenShotty uses it only at the moment you start a capture yourself – with a shortcut or from the menu bar icon. There is no background capture, no video recording and no audio.
So that you can pick a window with a click, the app reads the position and title of the visible windows when a capture starts. This is used only to highlight windows and is discarded afterwards.

The app has no access to the network, camera, microphone, contacts, calendars, location or any other folders on your Mac.
The app only writes to the clipboard when you choose to. When you pass an image on via “Share” – for example AirDrop, Mail or Messages – it goes to the service you select there, and that service’s terms apply to the transfer.
ScreenShotty contains no analytics, no advertising, no third-party libraries and no automatic crash reporting.
For completeness: if you turned on “Share with app developers” in macOS under System Settings › Privacy & Security › Analytics & Improvements, Apple may provide us with anonymized crash reports. That is between you and Apple, and you can turn it off there at any time.
ScreenShotty is a one-time purchase. The purchase is handled entirely by Apple through the Mac App Store. We only see anonymous, aggregated sales figures – no name, no payment details, no Apple Account. Apple’s privacy policy applies to the purchase.
These pages use no cookies, no tracking and load nothing from third-party servers – not even fonts.
When you visit, the web server processes technically necessary connection data such as your IP address, the time and the requested page in order to deliver the page (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). This data is not combined with other data and not used for analysis.
The app collects no personal data and transmits nothing to us, so we hold no data from the app
that could be disclosed, corrected or deleted. You are in full control of the data on your Mac:
delete screenshots like any other file, and the app’s settings by removing the folder
~/Library/Containers/net.stevenbohm.screenshotty after deleting the app.
Regardless, under the GDPR you have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection, and the right to lodge a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.

If anything described here changes, this text will be updated with a new date. A change in how the app behaves can only reach you with a new version from the Mac App Store anyway.
